Active Directory and Facebook

Idea of the day: could you somehow integrate Facebook with Active Directory?

My thought is if you are thinking as a project manager at Facebook is to deliver the FB interface to companies. Google has already integrated their applications into a lot of education environments and more and more businesses. What Facebook would have to do is put their framework on top of the logon credentials used for AD.

From there, you could link personal Facebook accounts, add company information and set permissions from the FB settings to control other things in AD.

This would make a lot of sense for internal collaboration, communication, and perhaps align with other companies for product delivery, logistics, project development and more.

We are still in the VERY early stages of integrating social media in business. And perhaps the term "social media" is already branded as something that is "not-business." But if you looked at what FB can do, it can have many practical business purposes if you could integrate this into your work environment.
